What compiler are you using? Visual Studio 2010 gives this more helpful output: 1>cachesize.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol ..., Since QWidget has a virtual destructor, the compiler needs a vtable for your class. ..... derives from a QObject it's not enough for the compiler to use default constructor/destructors.
