Now when I try to connect to the VNC server via Remmina on the client it connects but all I get is a light grey window, no desktop or icon., Works !!! TNX. Just one error in the lines: not !/bin/sh but # !/bin/sh ... The following tutorial solved the issue for me: Ubuntu VNC Grey Screen. Reply .... I'm trying to get a VNC on Ubuntu 14.04 on EC2 display the Unity desktop.
