Solved: I had been playing Battlefield 1 for a couple months now and never had any issues. This afternoon I launched the game and it opened a window. ,To date, dice hasn't addressed this issue with a patch/fix/whatever. There is currently a 500+ page thread over at the forums specific to dx crashes and BF1.
