how to change ntsc to pal on lg tv

I know about the converters you can buy, but i was hoping there was some way to just switch the setting on the TV itself. ,I have sony wega trinitron ...PAL but the option color change is permanantly set to auto and it is not white but is dim grey which means it cannot be changed.
